GeneralDescriptionContractor Personnel Vetting Specialists analyze the bona fides of candidates under DS/T/ATA commercial services contracts. They perform their duties under the guidance and direction of the Chief of the Training Execution Division. However, the incumbents provide these services when requested to any DS/T/ATA government official in a supervisory or management position. DS/T/ATA senior management will rely on the information and advice from the Contractor Personnel Vetting Specialists to determine appropriate responses to vendors' submission of candidates for performance of services under DS/TIATA contracts. The Contractor Personnel Vetting Specialist positions may be either intermittent or full-time.

Major Duties

  • Analyze resumes, biographical data, and supporting documentation (e.g., employment history, military and law enforcement records, professional certifications etc.) to ensure commercial contTactor candidates meet the contractual requirements essential to the position that is being filled under a DS/T/ATA contract.

  • Apply personal security experience and skills to analyze the contractor qualification information received from a variety of third-party sources for evaluating the val idity, accuracy, and applicabili ty of the vendor-provided candidate information.

  • Maintain a record of approvals/denials of candidates in a database maintained by DS/T/ATA.

  • Periodically screen DS/T/ATA non-staff contractor rosters to ensure that only DS/T/ATA­ qualified personnel are being used.

  • Assist with additional tasks as directed.

Professional Qualifications/Skills

  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires U.S. Citizenship status.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET clearance

  • A Bachelor's degree;

  • One (1) year of experience, six (6) months of which must be specialized in administration of security-related programs; remaining six (6) months of experience may be generalized;

  • Background knowledge of security industry employment standards and practices (to include military and law enforcement) and/or Department of State security regulations, standards, and policies applicable to contractor employment actions;

  • Experience in developing plans, policies, procedure implementation, and interpretation of Government regulations;

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of computers with emphasis in advanced proficiency in word processing and data base management;

  • Ability to provide in formation in writing that is clear, accurate and concise;

  • Capable of developing solutions to problems and effectively communicating proposed solutions to upper management;

  • Familiarity with foreign affairs agencies is a plus.
