Electronics Technician Maintenance III
The Land Mobile Radio Engineer will focus on sustaining optimal performance levels across an integrated communications network while taking a proactive approach to system maintenance and customer support.
Will ensure all related VHF/HF and UHF radio repairs, to include user, organization and depot level maintenance is performed in Afghanistan.
Provide direct support (as needed) to Vehicle and Base Station installations
Implement a new Depot Radio Repair Level 3 Facility and Service Center in Kabul.
Support system hardware/software installation and network enhancement utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills.
Manages system availability through routine equipment maintenance and performance monitoring.
Maintains and sustains the LMR High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High frequency (UHF) digital radio communications systems. This maintenance includes:
designing radio code plugs
tuning and aligning duplexers for the LMR infrastructure
perform extensive troubleshooting and Level III Depot repairs
optimizing all LMR equipment to ensure maximum performance and reliability
Individuals who fill this role could also serve as company liaisons with customers on administrative and technical matters.
Act as team leader supervising junior technicians at multiple locations within Afghanistan.
Motorola certifications are preferred.
CODAN certifications are preferred.
Harris certifications are preferred.
The Land Mobile Radio Engineer must have extensive knowledge/understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation at various frequency bands, and the ability to troubleshoot radio communications and associated radio networking problems. Candidate must be able to program, install, repair and troubleshoot Motorola and other Land Mobile Radio equipment.
